Nick I don't think that launch picture was of Sputnik 1. I believe the actual launch took place at 10:29 PM Moscow time Joe Grills

Nick the R7 photos both on the rail transport and on the pad are not of Sputnik 1. They are of an R7 ICBM . Similarly the R7 launch photo is not Sputnik 1 either. It’s also of a later ICBM .
