Propaganda Art & Cosmic Women's day
Part 2 of Soviet Space Art, now with Cosmic Women's Day cards.
Welcome to a second post covering propaganda posters with a space theme. I also recently found that there was a distinct theme of space cards to celebrate International Women’s Day. (Seagulls are often featured!).
The selection this time around features many posters that are no so well known.
Most of these pictures have been enlarged and cleaned using AI software. I’m using computer translation, so it won’t be perfect. As usual, click on an image to see a full sized version.
This one was new to me, a call for the peaceful use of space. (Which hardly matches the actions of the USSR).
And that last one leads me nicely into the art for International Women’s Day. Not all is propaganda, some is for greetings cards.
An unlikely combination of flowers and a weather satellite!
This edition’s cool visual:
A short video, by me, showing the 19k 21k proposal for a crewed Moon landing, taking the whole shebang down to the surface to avoid docking in Lunar Orbit!

This edition’s 1 week download:
The previous download, a bundle of back issues of the Russian space magazine “Novosti Kosmonavtiki”, went down well, so here’s some more. All 12 issues from the year 2008. As usual the download link will only work for one week. If you miss it, it’s gone.
